To showcase emerging musicians with serious talent.

Every musician or band promoted on this site is carefully selected for their musical ability, originality, authenticity and social awareness. Yup, your basic super-human.

We aim to combine a fantastic atmosphere with great music and a sneek preview into the future of music.
Perform at the Vancouver Roundhouse
Best of the West Live in Concert
We are now selecting individuals and bands to perform at a youth musicians showcase. For this, our first ever live event, we are focusing on rock, pop, soul, blues, alternative, jazz and generally "modern" genres. Depending on the response future dates may be available.
The concert features a series of young musicians from British Columbia. We will also be live streaming the event on YouTube. We are hoping to attract music industry professionals in the audience to help the performers move forward in their careers.
Please note that we are primarily looking for musicians that are in a "rock band" or similar, or that have a modern solo act (think Gordon Lightfoot or Tracy Chapman). An event featuring high school bands or choirs is of course also interesting and we hope to feature such an event later in the year.
Here are some tips on how to get selected for the showcase...
Essential:
Be able to perform high quality modern music (say 1950 through 2023).
Not essential, but it would be helpful:
have a social channel on which we can preview your performances (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok,...)
Have an original song that you can demo.
Know what is going on in the world and do something about it.

This event will be run by volunteers. Expenses will be covered by ticket sales and donations, after which net proceeds will go to Covenant House Vancouver. Please consider donating to Covenant House to help out.
